May 2003 -- By Jill Gallagher

After the goatie kids are born, life will slow down, or that is what I thought. Humans are funny animals, we always think, this is the busiest time and the next month will be less, and then we say said to oodles of stuff and then that month is busier then the last, go figure…Well our kids at Hollyhock Hollow are on the ground frolicking on the green grass, and the wild chicken came home with her baby chicks and I thought I didn’t have enough to do, add gardening, flower worshipping, weeding, and clean up after winter, that I bought a puppy too. Now all I do is follow puppy around; I am guarding the flowers, playing with chickies and goaties and smiling. Can life be so grand!!

Well thank you ALL!, for the wonderful participation in the last election. The Board member applicants were super and the voter returns were the best in years! Good job members! Ok, first thank you from all us members to all that ran for the board. I am sorry we couldn’t just place you all on the board. And a big thank you to Inga Gonzales as our out going board member. She brought many new ideas to PBA and we benefited from her insights greatly. So now the three applicants that you, the membership elected are, Fran Bishop - Region 3, Sharon Lawson – Region 2 and Jill Gallagher – Region 1. Thank you again for voting! Since Sharon is the new one, Welcome Sharon! This board members term will start June 2003.

The other item on the ballots was the On line herd book petition. The votes were very close. The petition did win. And the board will be discussing that out come in the next meeting. Again, voter participation was very good, thank you!

We didn’t have a board meeting since the last newsletter, but will be having one as this newsletter is going to press, so the minutes will be posted in the following newsletter. We can also post them on the PBA web site, what do you think of that idea? Speaking of the PBA Web site, Lisa Roskopf put the web site together and has been maintaining it and has done a wonderful job. She is very passionate and concerned on how the web site works for all of us. That it has the information that our visitors and we need. She has decided to proceed to other projects now, and therefore we, PBA, are looking for a replacement for her. I hope by time you read this we will have the replacement and our, web site will be moving forward with all the great projects PBA is doing. A great BIG THANK YOU Lisa!!

A brief list of what the board will be going over at the May meeting are: copyrighting PYGORA, AI report for PBA, new members in Breeders Book, Bylaws update, web master applicants, merchandising guidelines, voting procedure for the future, reviewing regions and membership locations, dues increase, and committee and officer reports and more. Remember, if you would like to be included in the Board meetings, you can get on the cc list. Contact me with your e-mail address and I will add you to the list.

Also, PBA is always on the look out for committee members and committee chairs. Please contact me if you are interested in getting involved. And next time you see a hard working committee chair, officer or show organizer, please tell them thank you- Great Job, And that is from me too.

Enjoy your spring; get those kids out to the public, and tell everyone about the wonderful world of Pygoras!
